  • Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art that is practiced all over the world for its restorative health benefits. There are five main styles of Tai Chi, each with many variations. “Yang family style” and it’s many variations are the most popular and widely practiced style in the world today. Tai Chi is considered a “soft style” or “internal Martial art,”  focusing on the development of internal power and soft fluid movements. The goal of Tai Chi is to restore balance to the body, correcting postural and muscular imbalances and teaching the practitioner to move with ease and efficiency. Although Tai Chi is a martial art, it is practiced primarily for its wide variety of health benefits.

  • Improve Balance and Core Strength

Tai Chi is an amazing lower body and core work out.  It is low impact on the joints and strengthens the legs, glutes, and abdominal muscles. Tai chi has been shown to restore proprioception- the ability to sense the position of your body in space, which declines with age. Restoring proprioception and strengthening the core greatly improves balance and reduces the risk of falls for seniors.

  • Improve Posture

Tai Chi strengthens the postural muscles of the back and teaches you proper alignment of the spine. After training for only a few years Anton's mother was excited to find that she had regained an inch in height , just through her practice of Tai Chi, which she believed helped her and lengthen and restore her spine!

  • Lower Stress and Anxiety

Tai Chi has been greatly recognized for its stress-reducing effects and has become popular with people in high stress positions such as doctors, lawyers and executives .  It is commonly referred to as a form of moving meditation. Tai Chi has also been shown to help reduce blood pressure.  Anton works to help restore natural diaphragmatic breathing, lowering anxiety and bringing an overall sense of wellness to his clients.

  • Improve  Flexibility and Joint Mobility

Tai Chi improves upper and lower body flexibility, helping to regain lost ranges of motion. Many people feel relief from stiffness and sore joints after starting a regular Tai Chi practice.
