Anton Summers, Head Instructor at Westside Tai Chi, has practiced Yang style Tai Chi for over seventeen years.  At age 15, he started training with his first teacher Dr. Mark Cheng, human performance expert, martial arts master and researcher.

  Anton has a unique approach to teaching and has worked with people of all ages and ability.  His focus is to use Tai Chi to restore balance to the body.  Focusing on the development of good movement and body mechanics that ease aches and pain and aid in longevity.  His greatest passion is to see his students thrive and progress in the art, achieving levels of understanding and ability that exceed their expectations. Over the years Anton has taught for several organizations as well as teaching his own group classes.

  Anton brings a rare understanding of both the health and martial aspects of Tai Chi. He has helped many people regain lost ranges of motion and rehabilitate injuries, giving them the confidence to move freely again and enhancing the quality of their everyday lives . His classes are fun and easy-going, and they produce results.

   Anton has also trained for several years in Chen style Tai Chi with Master Qichen Guo as well as training in the Sun and Zhao Bao Tai Chi styles with Master Tim Cartmell. Over the last few years Anton has competed in Tai Chi competitions around Los Angeles winning several gold medals and trophies. In addition to Tai Chi, Anton has trained extensively in Combat Shuai Chiao and Sil Lum Fut Ga kung fu.  Anton was one of the last students to achieve the rank of black belt under the late famous Hapkido Grand Master Bong Soo Han.  He is also a black belt in Kali under martial arts legend, Guru Dan Inosanto. He is always applying the principles of Tai Chi to daily life and to other martial arts and forms of exercise.
